Futura Accordion

Released in the year 1927, Futura is a well known sans-serif geometric typeface that was designed by German typographer, Paul Renner. Created during a time when experimentation in the era of constructivism and the bauhaus art movement were encouraged, the famous font separated itself from the classic serifs at the time by using various simple geometric shapes and forms for its based roman letterforms. This collaged accordion fold provides a quick overview of Futura’s history while also exploring how the it compares to contemporary fonts of a personally curated type collection.
